Thursday 20th November 1919


Payment of a £28 war gratuity was authorised in respect of the late 2Lt. Albert Edgar Palmer (see 22nd February), who had been killed in action in September 1918 while serving in France with 8th West Yorks; the payment would go to his widow, Clara.


Payment of an £8 10s. war gratuity was authorised in respect of the late L.Cpl. Thomas Hodson (see 14th March) who had been killed in action in July 1916; the payment would go to his stepmother, Mary.

Payment of a £4 10s. war gratuity was authorised in respect of the late Pte. Frank Beaumont (see 4th December 1917) who had been killed in action in June 1917; the payment would go to his father, Charles. 

Payment of a £4 10s. war gratuity was authorised in respect of the late Pte. William Henry Gray (see 17th March) who had been killed in action in March 1918 while serving in France with 2nd/7th DWR; the payment would go to his mother, Sarah.

Payment of a £3 war gratuity was authorised in respect of the late Pte. George Edward Hickson (see 14th January 1918), who had been killed in action in September 1917; the payment would go to his father, Frederick.

Payment of a £14 war gratuity was authorised in respect of the late Pte. Stanley Peace (see 21st May 1918), who had died of wounds in September 1917; the payment would go to his mother, Mary Ann.

Payment of a £17 war gratuity was authorised in respect of the late Pte. James Tuddenham, known to all as ‘Tudd’ (see 31st August 1918), who had been killed in action in April 1918 while serving with 1st/6th DWR; the payment would go to his mother, Elizabeth.

Payment of a £5 war gratuity was authorised in respect of the late Pte. Walter Pedley (see 24th June 1918), who had been killed in action in November 1917 while serving with 2/7th DWR; the payment would go to his widow, Edith.

Payment of a £13 war gratuity was authorised in respect of the late Pte. William John Williamson (see 29th March 1918) who had been killed in action in October 1917; the payment would go to his mother, Mary.

A Bible, which was the only outstanding item from the personal effects of the late Pte. Joseph Henry Haywood (see 12th May) who had died from influenza and broncho-pneumonia in October 1918, was sent to his widow, Edith.
