Sgt. Wilfred Fletcher
(see 25th November), who
had fractured his right wrist while playing rugby, was transferred from 9th
Casualty Clearing Station to 62nd General Hospital at Bordighera,
near Ventimiglia.
Cpl. George Henry Hansford MM (see 1st
November) was discharged from Northants War Hospital in Duston following
treatment for a “small bullet wound, upper 1/3rd left leg”; he would
have ten days’ leave before reporting to 3DWR at North Shields.
Pte. Thomas James
Hogben (see 4th September),
who had been in England since having been wounded in August, was posted to 3DWR
at North Shields.
Just five days after the death of his younger brother
Michael, John O’Gara died from influenza and broncho-pneumonia; Pte. John O’Gara (see 30th November) was again with his son when he died.
A pension award was made in the case of the late Pte. Henry Marshall (see 12th November 1917), who had been killed in action in June 1917; his mother, Mary, was awarded 7s. 6d. per week.
