appointed Acting Lance Corporal.
Pte. Arthur William
Drane (see 6th October)
re-joined the Battalion, more than two months after going on leave to England;
the reason for his delayed return is unknown.
Capt. Robert Stewart
Skinner Ingram (see 18th
August), who had been a prisoner of war since August when the aircraft he had
been flying was forced down near Ostende, was repatriated to England.
CSM Albert Blackburn
DCM (see 2nd December), serving
at Northern Command Depot at Ripon, was granted ten days’ leave.
Pte. Joseph Hirst
(24181) (see 26th October),
who was in England having been wounded
during the trench raid on 26th August, was posted to 3DWR at North
Shields.
Pte. James Percival
(see 5th November) was
posted from the
Regimental Depot in Halifax to the Infantry Command Depot at Catterick.
Lt. Andrew Aaron Jackson
(see 16th October), who
had suffered wounds to his right shoulder during the trench raid on 26th
August, appeared before a further Army Medical Board which determined that he
should remain under treatment at Lady Cooper’s Hospital, Hursley Park,
Winchester.
