Pte. Ernest Townsend
(see 16th June 1918) was
posted back to England to join 3DWR at North Shields.
Pte. Joseph Firth
(see 25th October 1918)
was formally discharged from the Army as no longer physically fit for service
on account of wounds suffered in action; he was assessed as having suffered a
60% disability and awarded an Army pension of 16s. 6d. per week, to be reviewed
after one year.
Cpl. Thomas Henry Cox
(9328) (see 4th February),
having previously been a regular soldier, was formally transferred to Section B
of the Army Reserve. This was for men who had completed their service in the
regular army and would serve their normal period (typically of five years) on the
reserve.
Ptes. Alfred Charles
Dolphin (see 11th February)
and Ernest John Robbins (see10th February) were
officially transferred to the Army Reserve Class Z.
Sgt. Herbert Lawton (see 1st April 1918) and Pte. Newton Dobson MM (see 25th
January 1918) serving with
3DWR, were also officially transferred to the Army Reserve Class Z. Sgt.
Lawton was reported as suffering from keratitis (inflammation of the cornea)
and was awarded an Army pension of 11s. 10d. per week.
Ptes. Charles Harwood
(see 24th June 1917) and Frederick Marston, serving with the
Labour Corps, were also officially transferred to the Army Reserve Class Z.
Pte. James Leonard
Bloomer (see 10th November
1917) was formally transferred from Army Reserve Class P, under the terms
of which he had been working with Messrs. Preston, Proctor & Co., to Army
Reserve Class Z.
