Infantry Barracks in Ypres
Another quiet day, with large working parties again supplied
overnight for for the Royal Engineers.
RSM John William
Headings (see 27th
November), re-joined the Battalion following a one-week leave to England.Ptes. Richard Butler (see 18th November) and Thomas Robinson (16490) MM (see 18th November) re-joined the Battalion. Pte. Walter Appleby (see 18th November) also joined the Battalion.
Two weeks after being discharged from hospital, Pte. Harry Simpson (see 23rd November) re-joined the Battalion from 34th
Infantry Base Depot at Etaples; he had been away from the Battalion since
September as a result suffering from “ICT” (inflammation of the connective
tissue) to the fingers of his right hand.
Pte. Wilson Hepworth
(see 25th June), on
attachment to 23rd Division HQ, departed for England on ten days’
leave.
Sgt. Albert Joseph
Acarnley (see 1st November),
serving with 2nd Royal Berkshires, was granted ten days’ leave to
the UK. He would later be commissioned and serve with 10DWR.
