Infantry Barracks in Ypres
Another quiet day, with large working parties again supplied
overnight for the Royal Engineers.
Pte. Ernest Wilson (11751) (see 21st June) departed for England on ten days’ leave.
Pte. Fred Teal (see 24th August) was admitted to hospital (details unknown); he would re-join the Battalion after six days.
After being treated for a week for problems with his teeth, Pte. Arthur Lumb (see 27th November) was discharged from hospital in Arques and posted to 34th Infantry Base Depot at Etaples.

2Lt. Fred Baume (see 23rd October), who had
been wounded during the actions at Le Sars, was now deemed fit for light duty
at home, and joined 3DWR at North Shields.
A pension award was made in respect of the late Pte. John Smith (13487) (see 13th July), who had died of wounds in May; his mother, Priscilla, was awarded 5s. per week.
