Front line trenches near Zouave Wood
Conditions remained relatively quiet, as on the previous days.
There was a thick mist for much of the day.
L.Cpl. John William
Cooper (see 20th October)
was promoted Corporal.
Pte. Thomas Manuell
(see 17th October) was
admitted to 69th Field Ambulance suffering from ‘trench fever’ and
myalgia; he would subsequently be transferred to 2nd Canadian
Stationery Hospital.
Sgt. Wilfred Fletcher
(see 21st July), L.Cpl. William Hutchinson (see 16th September) and Pte. Harry Horner (see 13th November) departed for England on ten day’s
leave.
Pte. Frank Brooks
(see 25th August), who had
been severely wounded (he had had his left foot amputated) and taken prisoner
by the Germans in July, was one of a number of severely wounded prisoners who
returned to England in an exchange arranged with the Germans.
L.Cpl. Tom Jackson
Tindall (see 16th August)
was posted from the Regimental Depot at Halifax to 83rd Training
Reserve Battalion at Gateshead.
