The Battalion was engaged in training and on the rifle
range.
Pte. James Edward
Hollingworth (see 30th
April) was reported for “not complying with battalion orders; ie wearing
service cap instead of own helmet at 5.55pm”; on the orders of Capt. Dick Bolton MC (see 7th August) he was to be confined to barracks for
three days.
Pte. Claude Wilfred
Norman (see 25th April)
was admitted via 71st Field Ambulance and 39th Casualty
Clearing Station to 23rd Division Rest Station; he was suffering
from “I.C.T. - general” (Inflammation of the connective tissue).
Pte. Joseph Hadley
(see 14th July), who was
on leave in England, was reported absent from 4pm having failed to report on
time at Waterloo Station to return to Italy. He would report three days later
and be despatched to Italy.
Pte. Reginald James
Nosworthy (see 16th July)
was transferred back to 38th Stationary Hospital in Genoa from the
Convalescent Depot at Lido d’Albano; he was suffering from tonsilitis.
Pte. John Chadwick
Taylor (see 18th July),
who had been wounded on 18th July, was transferred from 29th
Stationary Hospital in Cremona to the Convalescent Depot at Lido d’Albano.
Pte. John Walter
Gethen (see 13th July),
was discharged from the Convalescent Depot at Lido d’Albano and posted to the
Base Depot at Arquata Scrivia.
Pte. Ernest Thorn
(see 12th June) was
discharged from Keighley War Hospital following treatment for an inguinal
hernia; he would have one week’s leave before reporting to the Regimental Depot
in Halifax.
