Billets at Arzignano
Ptes. Tim Helliwell
(see 14th December 1918), Frank Tucker (see 23rd September 1918) and Frank Wood MM (see
17th November 1918) completed and signed their ‘Statement as to
disability’ forms, which were a precursor to their being posted back to
England. The completed forms, which confirmed that they did not claim to have
suffered any disability in service, were witnessed, for Helliwell and Wood by Lt.
Edward Kent Waite MC (see8th February) and for Tucker
by Capt. Paul James Sainsbury (see 8th February).
Ptes. Joseph
Blackburn (29722) (see 30th
January), Garibaldi Edwin Dawson
(see 14th March 1918) and Joseph Holmes (see 30th January) were posted to England to be
demobilized; all three would be demobilized from Clipstone Camp.
Lt. William George Wade (see 31st January) was
formally released from the Army; he completed his documents whilst at Ripon.

Lt. John Charles
Brison Redfearn (see 3rd
January) was also formally released.
Pte. Cuthbert Dyer
(see 10th January) was
formally transferred to the Army Reserve Class Z.
Pte. John George
Inshaw (see 10th January),
who was on leave in England, was formally transferred to the Army Reserve Class
Z.
Pte. Walter Charlesworth (see 25th January 1917), who
had been serving with the
Machine Gun Corps, was also formally transferred to the Army Reserve
Class Z. At some point during his time with the MGC (details unknown) he had
suffered facial wounds resulting in “mutilation of gums and upper lip; five
teeth missing”; as a result he was awarded an Army pension of 8s. 3d. per week.
Pte. Thomas Gunnell
was also formally transferred to the Army Reserve Class Z. He had been an
original member of 10DWR but at some point (date and details unknown) had been
transferred to the Labour Corps. In the absence of a surviving service record I
am unable to make a positive identification of this man or to establish any
details of his service with 10DWR.
