were posted to England to be demobilized; Gough, Bray, Robbins and Smith would
be demobilized from Chiseldon, Wilts.; and Nash from Wimbledon.
Lt. Cyril William
Wildy (see 24th January),
who had been on an officer training class at the Signal Service Training Centre
in Bedford, was formally released from the Army; the formalities were completed
at Chisledon Camp, Wilts.
Pte. George Bell
(see 8th January), who was
on leave in Scotland, was formally demobilized from the Dispersal Centre at
Kinross.
A/W.O. Class II David
Frederick McKrill DCM, MM (see 25th
August 1917) was formally transferred to the Army Reserve Class Z. Since
having been wounded while serving with 10DWR in June 1917 he had served with
9DWR, but, in the absence of a surviving service record, I am unable to
establish any further details of his service.
Pte. Thomas Caton
(see 30th November 1918),
who had been serving with 3DWR at North Shields, was also formally transferred
to the Army Reserve Class Z.
Pte. James Young
McDonald (see 17th October
1918), who had been in England since having been gassed in October 1918 while
serving in France with 5DWR, was also formally transferred to the Army Reserve
Class Z; having been gassed, he was assessed as having a 20%disability and was
awarded an Army pension of 5s. 6d. per week, to be reviewed after six months.
Pte. Thomas Farley
Seaman (see 25th November
1915), was also formally transferred to the Army Reserve Class Z. He had
originally served with 10DWR before having been identified as under-age. At
some point (date and details unknown), he had re-enlisted and had served with
9DWR, 2DWR and 2nd/4th DWR.
