In Brisbane, Australia, Claude Alvin Darwin completed his attestation and medical to join the Army. He was the younger brother of Tunstill recruit Pte. Tom Darwin (see 12^th September 1914).Claude had emigrated to Australia in 1911 and had been working as an engine driver.
