Scottish Camp, south-west of Brandhoek
Easter Sunday. Training continued and the weather remained very
cold. While the Battalion, with the rest of 69th Brigade, remained
in Divisional Reserve at Scottish Camp, 70th Brigade took over a
2,500 yard stretch of the front line astride the Zillebeke-Zwarteleen road.
Pte. Ellis Sutcliffe (see 14th March), who had been wounded six weeks previously, re-joined the Battalion from 34th Infantry Base Depot at Etaples. Pte. Arthur Lumb (see 5th December 1916) also re-joined the Battalion 34th Infantry Base Depot at Etaples; he had spent the previous four months at Etaples following dental treatment in December 1916. The reason for his extended stay at Etaples is unclear.

Pte. Edward Grayshon
(see 19th March) was admitted
discharged from 23rd Division Rest Station and re-joined the
Battalion; he had been suffering from “I.C.T.” (Inflammation of the connective
tissue) ‘general’.
Pte. Henry Marshall (see 25th March) who had been
treated for syphilis, re-joined the battalion and Pte. Patrick Sweeney (see 21stMarch), who had been treated for gonorrhoea was also
posted back to the Battalion from no.34 Infantry Base Depot at Etaples.

Agar, (see 24th February),
9th Yorkshires, having spent six weeks on leave in England, was
posted to no.19 Officer Cadet Battalion based at Pirbright. Once commissioned
he would serve with 10DWR. Sgt. George
Clifford Sugden (see 12th
February), 10th East Yorkshires, also began his course of
officer training, although it is not clear to which Cadet Battalion he was
posted. He would later be commissioned and serve with 10DWR.
