Training continued. The weather remained very cold, with a
biting wind and some rain and snow.
Pte. Smith Hesselden
(see 3rd March) was
reported as having a “dirty rifle on 9am parade”; on the orders of Capt. Edgar Stanton (see 31st March) he was to be confined to barracks for
three days.
Brig Genl. Lambert
(see 31st March) presented
the commemorative silver salver to the 11th West Yorks. as winners
of the Brigade competitions.

Pte. Hubert Crabtree
(see 8th November 1916),
serving in France with 8DWR (it is not known when he had been posted back to
France), was admitted to 11th Casualty Clearing Station at Varennes,
suffering from trench foot. He would be transferred, two days later, by no.3
Ambulance Train for further treatment (details unknown).
