Corporal Robert Cresswell resigned his post and reverted to the rank of Private, ‘at his own request’. The reason for his decision is not known, but he had previously (see 31^st January) been reprimanded for gambling with some of the privates in the Company.

Matthew Best who had been previously appointed unpaid Lance Corporal (see 2^nd April) was confirmed in his post, with pay.

Corporal William Eley (see 12^th October 1914), one of the most experienced of Tunstill’s men, having previously served more than eight years as a regular soldier, was promoted Sergeant.

In a letter to his family, Priestley reported that he had had his photograph taken in Folkestone.
