Matthew Best who
had been previously appointed unpaid Lance Corporal (see 2nd April)
was confirmed in his post, with pay.
Corporal William Eley
(see 12th October 1914), one of the most experienced of Tunstill’s
men, having previously served more than eight years as a regular soldier, was
promoted Sergeant.
In a letter to his family, Priestley reported that he had
had his photograph taken in Folkestone.
