Having returned to Folkestone, 23^rd Division, including Tunstill’s Company, was inspected by Major General Sir Archibald Murray, Chief of the Imperial General Staff.

Pte. Fred Hird (see 5^th April) was reported as ‘absent from tattoo’ until appearing on the 7am parade the following morning; he would be admonished but suffer no further punishment.
