Fawcett was reported by Cpl. McGrath and two Military Police Officers as
having been, “Absent from fatigue at 11.30 am. Quitting camp without a pass and
found in the Holly Bush Public House (in Farnham) at 12 noon. Being in possession of a pass
belonging to another soldier”. On the orders of Col. Crawford he would be
confined to barracks for ten days. Benjamin Fawcett was a 34 year-old labourer
from Bradford..
