Wednesday 2nd February 1916

Brigade reserve billets at La Rolanderie.

Another quiet day; the weather remained very cold, but fine. Nothing to report, other than exchanges of rifle, machine gun and artillery fire heard in the distance.

L.Cpl. Matthew Best who had suffered an accidental injury to his chest during training two weeks earlier and had been treated locally, was transferred to 13 General Hospital in Boulogne (see 20th January).

Cpl. Henry Markham (see 20th November 1915) departed for England on one weeks’ leave.
