A bright morning, followed by a quiet day, with “nothing to
report”.
Pte. George Edward
Western (see 7th October
1915) was reported as ‘absent from rifle inspection’; on the orders of Capt.
Robert Harwar Gill (see 28th September 1915), he
would be confined to barracks for seven days.
It was around this time, although the precise date is
unknown, that Pte. Robert Wilson Irving
(see 25th September 1915)
re-joined the Battalion; he had spent 16 weeks in hospital in France being
treated for shellshock after being buried by a shell explosion.
Pte. William Hissett
(see 14th December 1915)
was discharged from the Military Hospital at the Curragh Camp, near Dublin and
posted to 11DWR at Brocton Camp, Staffs..
