John Clarence William Redington submitted his application for a
commission in the New Army. He was the younger brother of Frank Hubert Caudwell Redington who had been commissioned 2nd
Lieutenant in December 1914 and was serving as one of Tunstill’s fellow
officers (see 12th December
1914). John Redington was 19 years old and had been a member of the OTC at
University College Nottingham. He would later serve alongside his brother as
one of the officers of 10th Battalion.
