Payment of an £8 10s war gratuity was authorised in respect
of the late Pte.
Robert William Bell
(
see 16th November 1917)
who had been killed in action in October 1916; the payment would go to his mother,
Margaret. The pension awards in his case were somewhat complicated; not only
was a pension payable to his mother, but payments were also authorised to Mrs.
Myra Charlesworth of Bransley, ‘unofficial wife’ and to Mrs. Clarissa Bradley
of Settle, ‘guardian of illegitimate child’.
