Lt. Thomas Beattie, (see 24th September), who had been wounded in July while serving with 9DWR, appeared before a Medical Board in Newcastle-on-Tyne on the expiry of his six weeks’ sick leave. The Board found that, “The wound remains sound. He has good use of the arm; can put his hand up to the back of the head. He is fit for light duty”. He was instructed to join 3DWR at North Shields, with his case to be reviewed again in a months’ time.
