Wednesday 16th June 1915

Pte. Joseph Wolfenden (see 19th October 1914), who was home on leave was married, at Thornton-in-Craven Parish Church, to Isabel Walmsley; one of the witnesses was Pte. James Knight (see 19th October). Pte. Wolfenden would not be posted to France with the Battalion in August and, in the absence of a surviving service record, it is not possible to be sure of the remainder of his military service. However, it may be that he is the same man who subsequently served in India with 1DWR under the service number 30852.

Lance Corporal Frederick Griggs (see 10th May), who had previously served with Tunstill’s Company, before being posted to 2nd Battalion West Ridings, was promoted Sergeant.
