Thursday 17th December 1914

Cpl. Samuel Collins (see 23^rd September) was promoted Sergeant. Cpl. Arthur Manks was also promoted Sergeant. He was a 40 year-old millhand from Huddersfield and had previously served as a regular soldier with 2DWR. He had re-enlisted in September 1914 and had been posted to the newly-formed 10^th Battalion as a Corporal.
Home on leave from Aldershot, Pte. Bob Harrison, who had volunteered at Grassington, married Lilian Kidd, the service taking place at the church at Linton, near Grassington.
