Wednesday 29th September 1915

Billeted in huts near Rue Marle.

The War Diary commented simply, “Nothing to report. Good news continues to arrive from all sides”
However, it was also noted that the weather had turned significantly colder.
Pte. Tom Jackson Tindall (see 11th September) was appointed Lance Corporal.
The CO of 11DWR sent a telegram to Bradford Police requesting that they make enquiries regarding L.Cpl. Joseph Baxter (see 7th September) who was absent from the Battalion. Two days later a letter of reply would state that, ‘my officer was informed that he left this city by the 1.05pm train on the 29th with the intention of re-joining his regiment’.
