CSM William Clarke (see 18th
September 1914) was discharged to a commission as a Temporary Second
Lieutenant; he would serve in England with 11DWR.

Pickles was admitted to Connaught Hospital, Aldershot, suffering from
scabies; he would be discharged and return to duty after one week. He had enlisted
in Halifax on 13th January and had been posted to 10DWR in April. He
was 21 years old, from Elland and had been working as a ‘wireman’.
