Tom Snowden, who had been examined on 14^th January, was formally discharged from the Army suffering from a “left inguinal hernia”.


The London Gazette published news of the appointment of a number of cadets and ex-cadets of OTCs to temporary commissions as Second Lieutenants with effect from 15th January; among them was Robert Clement (Bob) Perks (see 8^th January) who had recently successfully challenged concerns about his medical status.
